NastyNasty - Kingdom Come B-sides freebies

This boy will be the glitch-hop / heavy bass star of 2010. Trust my werd! NastyNasty is about to release his debut album Kingdom Come on Frite Nite. You should definitely check already released single The Reef (including a remix by infamous Slugabed) as a foretaste to the full-lengh dropping in a month.

NastyNasty was kind enough to release to the public FOR FREE!!! a mega-ill package of 3 original tracks - Bats, Bombshelter and French Corgi, cuts from 2 albums, which did not fit the final release. Oh, boy, if these are the tracks which did not make it, I am already all-swet in anticipation of what Jasper Reeder cooked up for his debut! Bats and Bombshelter are super-ill, dirty, glitchy sonic assualts which absolutely deserved a proper release. Go grab the entire package and watch for NastyNasty conquering the music world next year. Big Respect NastyNasty!

KID 606 - DANCE WITH THE CHORIZO EP (MEOW 155)

Kid606-Dance with the Chorizo EP by Tigerbeat6

Yeah! Kid606 seems unstoppable at the moment. Next week, Tigerbeat will release another veeeery extended maxi-EP by the master of sonic disaster and his motley crew of collaborators, which I will be more than happy to add to my extensive collection of weird beats and bleeps. Quality and diversity delivered by Kid606 as usual. Starting from dark, deep and low bass anthem of Samhain Atlanta, through pumping electro soca, mash-up frenzy of Another One Bites the Dubstep (Prodigy beats and synths) and typical Kid606 slowed-down bleepy beats in Lowlife Highrolling to a set of pretty diverse remixes.

Minimal funky techno remix of C.L.A.W.S. sounds quite o.k. proving that even in the genre which ceased to develop creatively long time ago (the rumors about its death are a bit exeggerated though) there may still appear tracks which offer something more than a dull repetition leading to irritation. Then, I'm really stoked to see CEX in the company of Kid606 again. I remember this duo from the 90's creating similar experimental electronic landscapes and often working back to back. But if Kid606 was never shy of heavy experimentation with knobs and buttons, Riyan Kidwell's (he he another kid) tracks were always captivating with their smooth melody lines, fantastic synths and infectious vocals. The remix of Kid606's Under Everywhere is no exception to this rule. You should definitely check CEX's recent release on tigerbeat6. Listen to a selection of 3 tracks from his LP - Bataille Royale (a reference to the cult Japanese movie?)released in August this year.

CEX-Bataille Royale (three tracks from the new LP!) by Tigerbeat6

Hardcore, UK rave innovator Michael Forshaw shows no mercy in his remix of Hello Serotonin, My Old Friend, whereas Eats Tapes goes into a very different direction with the same track creating a dense, spooky minimal techno joint full of delays and echoes. But the real damage comes next.  dDamage attacks Baltimorrow's Parties with full frontal force of industrial aesthetics and heavily distorted guitar riffs. I agree 100% with tigerbeat's press kit, this shit really reminds me of Ministry's best releases from "Land of Rape and Honey" era. (actually a few months ago I saw Ministry playing a gig in Warsaw - sadly, not much was left of the power of Al Juergensen and co., they seemed to me just another, mediocre thrash metal band). Anyway, dDamage track is definitely one of the highlights of this release. In Gratuitous Baltimore Birthday Jam Kid606 shows yet a different funky and smiley face marrying glitchy hip-hop rapping with oldschool, silly rave beats. Not for all tastes but I wish someone played such a music at my forthcoming birthday :) This extensive release winds up with a twisted R'n'B (?) tune, which in my opinion does not fit the previous tracks at all and is definitely the weakest offering on this very solid EP.

Soundcloud check

Yep, I'm back to virtuality more or less after a 1-week flat re-decoration which was quite tireseome but refreshing at the same time. I've been flooded by music in teh meantime. Sorry if I did not get back to you but I have just started slowly wading through my e-mails. For a starter, a quick check of (mostly) soundclouded goodies.

At first - a pretty complex remix of Mochipet's - Complex Players Dub by Sugarpill (don't miss his fantastic show on glitch.fm).

I know I know, but still I couldn't resist myself:

TC - Where's my Money (Caspa mx) (Elite Force Re-fix) [EDIT] by Elite Force

The Bad Boys from The Chrome Mansion sent me a killing refix. Akira Kiteshi remixing Stagga, wowwaweeee! Metal on metal treatment indeed. Highly recommended! Peeps in USofA should watch out for Stagga as he is (or was? I am not sure) currently touring your land.

If you have not bought the now-classic glitch / crunk hop compilation - Acid Crunk vol.2, just lisen to this fantastic psycho-joint by Akira Kiteshi and re-consider your buying options :) Ulyssssssesss!

Akira Kiteshi - Ulysses by Akira Kiteshi

Another rich (as usual) and complex remix comes from my favorite Berlin producer - Robot Koch. His work is a real higlight of the pretty good compilation Comfort Fit – Polyshufflez Remix LP to be released on 17th of December 2009 on Tokyo Dawn Records. Other contributors include: Laurent Garnier, Boom Clap Bachelors, Atjazz, Domu, Opolopo, Jacob Korn, fLako and more. If time allows, I'll post a longer review of this relase on my blog.

Comfort Fit - Fired up! feat. Blaktroniks (Robot Koch remix) by robot koch

Freddy Todd from Detroit persistently follows the glitched-up formula in his music, with quite a nice results in general. LoFi Fiction Blaster is dirty, whompy future funk banger. Don't miss this one.

LoFi Fiction Blaster by FreddyTodd

Finally, one more from Detroit, another Freddy Todd's banger in purple-synths NastyNasty remix. Wicked!

Various Artists lowdown

Just a quick lowdown of a few tracks I've been playing a lot recently.

Let's start from A Bridge Far Away. This is a new alias and totally new project of an old friend - Forensics. As a preview to his forthcoming album, he released two nice remixes of Drift featuring a beautiful and mesmerizing voice of Indi Kaur. The original makes me shiver and will be available on the  ABFA debut album Enchanted at the beginning of the next year (released on Methodology Recordings). Apart from Indi Kaur, the release will feature also star delta and Dusk Ensemble. Stay tuned for a review on my blog some time in the future!

First remix comes from Grievous Angel a 2-step, garage producer from Essex, whose mixes are among the best I've heard in any music style. He delivers what I expected of him. Another one is even better, a dubstep remix by Demon, who is part of Macabre unit crew.

A Bridge Far Away - Drift feat. Indi Kaur (Demon [Macabre Unit] remix)

Switching tempos, switching styles with DJ Dials. In my personal ranking Freaky Girl is absolutely at the h/h top. I've heard a few really great remixes, including the last one in the series, a dubstep refix by DJ Dials. Wicked!

Gucci Mane - Freaky Girl (DJ Dials Remix)

The next one is absolutely, frigging killing shit!! Gives me bannannas each time :) Props to boys from mixedbusiness.

Ill girl from Vancouver, lady power behind the mighty glitch-hop forum, Ill-Esha in a soulful, groovy glitch hop remix. Not only for the ladies!

Ill-Esha - Crunk Chevrolet

We move now closer to the center of the dancefloor and sweating bodies of skanking girls and boys. DJ Absurd aka MonstR - in a fast 'ugly ducklin' bassline roller.

DJ Absurd/MonstR -  Rubber Duck

Finally, a two very hot remixes coming from the remix compilation of "Sun People", originally released by Canadian Nicodemus.  Kush Arora, whose tribal, heavy step I've already covered some time on my blog, presents bashy bashy tribal bass banger around 132 bpm with santoor from the Original, a kind of American bow to uk funky, soca step and similar sound. Earthrise Soundsystem remix has a great, sunny oriental vibe. I'm a real sucker for such vocals. When traveling through Morocco, Tunisia or Egypt I've always tried to buy as many casettes (and recently CD's) as possible, they have such a rich musical culture and tradition. The entire album including remixes by e.g. Sabo, The Spy from Cairo, Tal M Klein, Christian Prommer, Pablo Sanchez, Adham Shaik, Tom B, The Pimps has been just released on ESL Music. Go check it!

Nickodemus - 2 Sips and Cup Remix

Th'Mole - The Other Side live show on KVMR 89.5 FM radio

Th'Mole, a self-made, DIY producer, performer, vocalist, man-of-many-names and bringer of good news to good people, a guy who can teach you how to be cool and who escapes easy generalizations with his dirty hybrid of re-mixed and re-cycled soundz. Browse my blog for more stuff by this cool homie and in the meantime listen to a great 2-hour show in KVMR 89.5 FM radio from Nevada. Th'Mole speaks with the host of The Other Side show - Mikail Graham about his life, inspirations, music and horror movies and plays tons of his freaky music, very fresh material (I luv Unicorns! at the end is pure hilarious genius!!!), but also remixes from his adolescent years. The entire show was pure, uplifting fun and a great mood booster. Enjoy!

OV04 Raleigh Moncrief - Combed Over Chrome EP

I have so little time recently and I have fished so many good releases within the last few months, especially on the glitch-hop / future beat front, I decided to post them without proper reviews or with just a few sentences from me. Which I don't like, becasue being a compulsive writer I feel very unsatisfied to release my babies to the general public without some guidance as to what expect from the music pushed on my blog. But I'd like to avoid losing this music in the voids of the blogosphere.

Let's start the series with a free EP by Californian Raleigh Moncrief (a guy/duo/band - have no idea?) Combed Over Chrome EP. This is one of the best EP's by a new artist I've heard recently. The title track is properly glitchy and dirty and the synths are very, very nice, reminding me of HudMo, Joker mixed with wonky LuckyMe stuff. I like! Actually it encompasses a few specific sounds evoking a deja vu as if I have already heard this somewhere!? Space oddyssey of Ew tar tar and dirty yet beautiful, bass-heavy Quiet Please really work for me. As a teaser, watch the video to the most neon track of the entire release - Similes. Definitely an artist to watch in the future. More glitch-hop goodies coming tomorrow. Stay tuned!

GOUSEION - WE'RE IN HIGH SCHOOL (GRAINTABLE and WUNDERLITE REMIX) + VIDEO

I've become a fan of Run Riot Records since the very first moment I've heard the productions of their artists (check my review of their sick compilation Motion Sickness here). Thus, I'm really happy to post here two great remixes of Gouseion's track We're in High Scool.  The original mix comes from a wicked release by Gouseion on Run Riot Records in April this year - "More Friends for the Fire". Check it on Addictech.

Intensively glitched and heavy IDM original track received a very successful treatment from Portland's DJ and Producer - Graintable (part of the live project - Chip Chop), who added a fantastic 'flow' and spacey synths, thus creating a pretty infectious and tight little joint. Highly recommended!

Another artist from Run Riot Records roster, Wunderlite in his remix of the same track, pumped even more glitch into the original song and distorted the synths to the max. The final result differs substantially from graintable's refix, but shares one characteristic - it is equally good and highly recommended.

GOUSEION - WE'RE IN HIGH SCHOOL (WUNDERLITE REMIX)

Finally, watch a video of Graintable performing We're in high school remix on his Akai. Ill!!!

Jahcoozi @Obiekt Znaleziony in Warsaw, Poland 21 Nov 2009!!

Another great gig this Autumn in Poland! On Saturday (21 Nov 2009), Berlin club trio - Jahcoozi will take over Obiekt Znaleziony in Warsaw to celebrate the second birthday of the venue which has become a permanent feature on the cultural map of the capital city of Poland. Not only Jahcoozi will perform live, but also Robot Koch will play a special live set! I'm so stoked to see and meet them! I appeal to you, open-minded citizens of Warsaw - do come to Obiekt Znaleziony this Saturday, don't miss such a rare opportunity to experience two killing live performances at one take.

Apart from their original productions, Jahcoozi (as a group and individual members) have been avid collaborators on numerous projects with many artists across the globe, to mention just a few: Mochipet, King Cannibal, Sukh Knight, Tolcha, Missil. Expect a great show, full of energy and fantastic beats. I love Sasha Perrera's vocal, but most of all I'm a big fan of Robot Koch, the main man behind the project and for me personally the leading producer of electronic music scene at the moment. He has just dropped an amazing debut album Death Star Droid on his own label Robots Don't Sleep (check this site for free goodies from Robot Koch and some surprising arts). The best track from this album (IMHO) - Hard to Find was also featured on the recently released chart-breaking an-ten-nae's Acid Crunk vol. 2 compilation. This track occupied the first spot on the electronic music charts on beatport for a few weeks!!

Listen and BUY Robot Koch - Death Star Droid, it's worth every penny. Stay tuned for a review on my blog soon.
